Burrito tortillas and bagels don't approach the real thing, but it's a stylish and lively place with good food. The "home style fries" are much more like french fries than fried potatos. Extra credit for whoever added the green tea ice cream/ginger ale float to the menu. It's expensive, but surprisingly not awful.
Happy New Year!
I have just returned from Hong Kong and I need to warn all on this Tai Wan Hotel Hong Kong Kowloon (http://www.twh.hk).
Despite that it was my 4th visit to HK over these years, I must say
that this so-call Hotel completely destroy my confidence to book
another hotel through internet ever again.

Besides being the principal region of China where wolfberries are grown, Ningxia is also well known economically for coal and coal-derived chemical industries (as in Shizuishan). Ningxia is very rich in coal resources, with a couple of dozen major mines and numerous small mines. The mining areas of the northern Helan Shan include some which have had <
Shabatai is a very nice place for coal, if you like coal. The coal workings are along a narrow north-south zone, and the strata are good for looking for very early (Carboniferous) fossil plants. Had lunch there on 16 Dec 2007. The interior is quite quaint, a bit like a backpackers' hang out. Service was so-so. The owner took my order by shouting over the bar towards my table. The food was terrible - bland and not tasty. It did not taste anything like the food I had in Nepal. And the portions were small and expensive. Both me and my friend had uncomfortable stomachs later that evening too...and I think it was probably from the food. Good place to go if you want a bar with snacks, or if you miss being a backpacker.
The Speakeasy bar used to be great to hear live music in Kunming. Now it is just an underground dump, where fights constantly break out. The Chinese owner of the Speakeasy should stop fighting himself, and learn self control. The staff seem to hate foreigners, and are very rude to all patrons. I wouldn't go to this crappy bar again! I advise people to stay well away...
