We ran into this place by incident and it was phantastic! The owners are very hospitable, helpful and always in the mood for a chat! Because they have been travelling a lot themselves, they can give travellers good advice as well. It's a good place to relax and feel at home. In addition, the food is very good and the toilets (yes, western) are wonderful and a relief after all the horrible ones we experienced in the rest of China! I have booked into the Hebei Guest Hotel, Beijing.  Does anyone know what this hotel is like?

  It is a court yard hotel and seems to be located in the centre of Beijing.

Does anyone know what the local beer is in Beijing?  What should I try?  How much should I pay?

a means of selling anything to no matter whom, even if it does not need any !
I know, it is a cynical definition ;-) 

But if you have a true passion,  (Chinese people, travel, photos, countryside, ...) you can create a great business, without deceiving anybody...

If you work just to make money, you are not in a good state of mind.

Which is your passion ? Why do you rise early in the morning ? You have to ask you these questions if you want to succeed.

The sandwiches and burgers here were surprisingly good, but the staff working there were not helpful when it came to answering questions about booking a boat to Thailand.  In fact, the waitress that I first asked said that they no longer provided that service.  However, Orchid (the owner?) and the other manager were both quite helpful.
