Anyway, i'll probably be catching a train from beijing to urumqi and stopping at towns along the way, but when I put in the destinations into the timetables here, then do a search on google maps they bring me to places way south. So I thought i'd ask, if i am going on that train journey, which i gather isnt one train, i wanna go from beijing, though Yi Xian, Laituan, Lingqui, Hunyuan, Datong.. then im not sure.. like hit north or south, still heading west, but eventually get to hohhot, baotou, wuhai, shizuishan, yinchuan, and lanzhou. then its easy sailing until urumqi. anyone done a bit of that journey? any idea of the cost? I expect it'll be about i dunno.. $500 AU or something all up on train tickets thanks! |

Hi froggie & welcome to the Treehouse. The site's been undergoing a software upgrade this week, so it's been a bit awkward to reply to your thread. Are you already in Beijing?
