Not to be confused with the other International Youth Hostel on the eastern outskirts of town, this Hostel at the south end of He Ping Road is a reasonably priced, reasonably clean place. The electric blankets here generally work, unlike some other places, and there are usually hot showers during the advertised times, unlike some other places. Certainly not the plushest accomodations in town but, for the price, definitely not a bad choice.
If you think you're good at "5 in a row" or Chinese Chess, try to challenge the owner "Wan Dou" to a game. He's a good man to meet.
This is also a good place to find other people to join you on day trips around the area (to Bita Lake, for example). Wan Dou will also be able to rent his jeep out sometimes if you have a more specific trip in mind.
