Peter Picked a Peck of Pickled Peppers

Review of Peter's Tex-Mex Grill by elizabeth (10), 2005年9月15日 4 stars

A great place to re-acquaint your taste buds to Tex-Mex grub with large portions of well-prepared food, a very attentive waitstaff, and a clean pleasant environment. The desserts arereally authentic American. They really know how to make apple pie!

Best bar in town!

Review of Bar 98 by hulvert (10), 2005年9月13日 5 stars

Great place, great location, excellent Chinese and Western food, cheap drinks, and best sound system in Guangxi...

Good Food and Live Jazz

Great place to sit on the balcony and watch the world by on those summer evenings.

Nightmare in Shangri-La

Review of Dragon Cloud Guesthouse by Pete_Rivera (20), 2005年8月27日 1 star

Surly service, red neck petty racism masquerading as knee jerk patriotism - displaying a large sign "No Japanese!!", ironic since this place is run by east coast chinese in Tibet.

Review of The Den by chickenandporn (10), 2005年8月18日 3 stars

The Den is great to drop in with a buddy, grab a beer, and carry on... it often has a number of foreigners due perhaps to the music, and perhaps to the multitude of "Chicken Girls" willing to entertain wealthy foreigners for the evening. If you rent girlfriends, there are some here.

The music is OK, and around midnight on most party nights it's a good place to dance. The dance floor is a bit small, but it's got a dance floor, a scripted DJ (does not respond to the dancers, just plays the music) but it's danceable music with a bit of swing-ish and salsa-ish stuff. Nice little mix.

If you want more Chickengirls, go to Maggie's; it just moved, and it's open until 4.

Cool guy

Review of Chuan Nan Xiao Chi by wtanaka (648), 2005年8月13日 4 stars

I've learned some chinese from this guy, and he serves large portions of food at reasonable prices. Try the "Er Si"

A wee bit pricy

Review of Hazel Bar by wtanaka (648), 2005年8月13日 3 stars

Hazel and Ma are the kindest people. The food is decent, but a bit pricy.

Permit

Review of Bus between Zhongdian/Xianggelila and Lhasa by chengduchris (10), 2005年8月11日 2 stars

I think this guy is crazy making money! Fly to Chengdu, where you at almost every travelagency either get a flightticket Chengdu - Lhasa including permit for around 1.990,- RMB Yuan, or a overland permit, actually these are about 5 permits for around 500 Yuan, which allows you to take a bus or go by jeep overland to Lhasa. And these permits are LEGAL. Don\'t know if the permits you get from this guy are legal. Wish you good luck.

Review of Old House Of Abu by amyinchina (10), 2005年7月28日 1 star

old house, true, but not worth the visit. Abu is sweet enough, but he'll spend many, many minutes showing you pics of all the other tourists who were suckered in. he'll definitely try and make closer contact with the women out there, and will repeat the same thing about Mao's troops doing something there, which we weren't able to understand even knowing some mandarin. better to just wave from the street!

quiet, peaceful

Review of Daci Si by meisje (96), 2005年7月28日 4 stars

The temple here has a very big square and just to sit on the steps in the square, time may become still...
