The site keeps emailing me daily

 Joined: 2007-01-22 Points: 1 | I keep getting the same email over and over and over and over! every day i get an email tha ti have a message but its the SAME message i read the FIRST time i got the email ... everyday its the same ... and the link you are supposed to follow to STOP getitng emails ...doesnt work it says im not authorized to access the page first of all your email notificatio software doesnt work at all ..it sends everyday notifications to emails which were already read seco0ndly your cancel notification link doesnt even work ..dont you people test your own software ?? UNSUBSCRIBE ME IMEDIATELY my user name is thumper |

The way that the private message notifications work is that you will get an email until you read the new message. You may have been seeing emails from before you opened the message (and thus marked it as non-new).
To edit your notification preferences, you have to be logged in before you can edit your profile. If you weren't logged in, you would get that access denied message -- it's what other people see if they try to edit your profile.
I apologize for the inconvenience, and I have unchecked the "Receive daily e-mail for unread messages" checkbox in your profile, which means that you should get no more email notifications about private messages in the future.
If you ever want to turn it back on, first log into your account, and then click the "My Profile" link in the upper right corner of the page.

I know it doesn't help your situation, but I've also changed the default behavior for new users to not send email alerts for new private messages.
