BEIJING  TEMPLESIDE  HOUSE  HOSTEL

Hostel Description:
An amazingly well-run, well-maintained newcomer on the hostel scene, the Templeside house hostel impresses with its original old Beijing residents’ lifestyle, recommended clean dorm and very affordable private rooms, relaxing garden-like courtyard, warm neighborhood, friendly staff, and fantastic location down a historic hutong (narrow alley).
Since most Beijing youth hostel just like modern western-style buildings, Western guests will feel that most things are run to their liking. But the living experience here is much different.  People who love to find real Beijing can be satisfied fully. Wandering in the long and puzzling labyrinth-like hutong, greeting with lovely neighbors, chatting in the no-roof courtyard with a beer in hand (it is so odd to see some courtyard with a roof, since it breaks the rule of the Chinese Fengshui , which emphasizes the touching communication among the earth, sky and human being), hearing the whistle from swiftly flying-by doves……the Templeside house gives you “a glimpse of what life in the city is really like”.
Hidden behind the busy street of downtown Beijing, the Templeside House Hostel is quietly and calmly located in the best part of the largest preserved hutong area of the city and with easy access of all transportation terminals. It is less than 3 kilometers to all major sites of Beijing including Tian'anmen Square, Forbidden city, Beihai Lake and Xidan business areas. Buses and subway trains leave outside the hostel regularly to all areas. Most strikingly, the hostel offers a FREE TOUR of historical Buddhist temple and hutong for the respected guests in the promotion period.
The hostel has new, tidy and clean facilities and equipments. There are just in total 10 rooms with air conditioning, including single rooms, double rooms, four or six shared dormitories. Of course strictly clean common washrooms and bathrooms are essential. There is also a reception room, a kitchen and dining rooms, the laundry area, the internet area, the TV area, the telephone area and the relax area in the courtyard.

How to get to the hostel?
The hostel’s location is close to the city’s important transportation center--- XiSi crossing (Chinese pronunciation “Xi Si”). There are so many ways getting there via public transportation, also taxi is much more convenient. At XiSi crossing, you can easily find Guangji Temple (Chinese pronunciation “Guang Ji Si”) by asking locals. Around 50 meters west to the temple gate, the second narrow alley named Liuhe (Chinese pronunciation “Liu He Hu Tong”). At the alley’s entrance, you can find a Q sign convenient store and a public toilet and many bus stops. Then, entering the alley and following the hostel sign, you can find us there, calmly and quietly waiting for you.
NB: If you really get lost, please call the hostel anytime anywhere and we will arrange a car to help you out. So, keep the map and phone number on hand.
l        Route 1
Airport---shuttle bus Line 2---Xidan Aviation Building (shuttle bus terminal) ---taxi or bus No.22---XiSi stop---Guangji Temple---LiuHe Hutong---hostel
From the airport, take shuttle bus Line 2 to the last stop, Xidan Aviation Building (shuttle bus terminal ). Get bus No 22 just in front of the Aviation Building beside the main street and get off at XiSi stop (should be the 4th Stop), go backward to the crossing and walk to the west about 100 meters along the street, pass the Guangji temple then you can find the second small alley which is named LiuHe Hutong.
If you take a taxi from Xidan Aviation Building to our hostel, the cost will be around RMB 10 Yuan.
l        Route 2
Beijing Central Railway Station---subway to FuChengMen station---bus, taxi or walking--- XiSi stop ---LiuHe Hutong---hostel
From Beijing Central Railway Station, take the Subway and then get off at Fu-Cheng-Men Station, out of the exit B then turn left walking to the east along the Fu-Cheng-Men-Nei street. About 15 to 20 minutes walking to the east, you will find LiuHe Hutong first, then Guangji Temple second, then XiSi Crossing finally. All those are very close within a 100-meter-distance.
Of course, you can also take a bus or a taxi from Fu-Cheng-Men Subway Station instead of 15 minutes walking to the hostel. Just tell the driver the destination is XiSi stop or Guangji Temple. It is pretty fast and easy.
l        Route 3
Beijing Central Railway Station---bus No.808--- XiSi stop---Guangji Temple---LiuHe Hutong---hostel
From the central railway station, you can also directly take the bus No 808 and get off at XiSi stop(should be the 8th stop), then from the crossing, walk to the west about 100 meters along the street, pass the Guangji Temple and keep going 50 meters, then you will find LiuHe Hutong and get us.
l        Route 4
Beijing West Railway Station---bus No 823---XiSi stop---Quik grocer---LiuHe Hutong---hostel
From Beijing West Railway Station, take bus No 823 and get off at XiSi stop(should be the 12th stop), cross the street to find a grocer named Quik with the "Q" sign then you will find LiuHe Hutong and get us.
l        Route 5
If you have got enough money, you can call a taxi from the airport or the railway station to the hostel. Just tell the driver you want to go to XiSi crossing or Guangji Temple, it is easy but expensive. If you really want to do this, please be aware not to use the service desks in the lobby of the airport or trust those over-warm guys who offer you a ride because most of them are always ready to rip you off at more than 300 RMB by putting you onto their private car without taxi license. So please use licensed taxi for more reliable service. You can just wait in the queue and get one on the regular site in front of the building of the airport lobby.
Instead, the hostel offers a pick-up service for guests, but it still charges a lot for its distance.
