This traditional Thai teak house certainly stands out from its neighbors on Tongren Lu. The inside is just as distinctive, with pink and purple textiles, golden statues, and a platform with low tables and cushions on the floor. The food is good but not as inspired as the surroundings and somewhat overpriced. Spring rolls, pineapple rice, and papaya salad are among the best choices. Consider going on a Monday or Friday, when a Y150 all-you-can-eat special lets you sample across the menu. Reservations essential.
