 Joined: 2006-02-12 Points: 2 | I will be spending 2 weeks in Zhongdian/Shangri-La to explore and photograph. Is it possible to hire a car so that I can explore on my own, if not do you have any recommendations for hiring an english speaking driver that would not mind getting up early and staying out late to allow me to capture the best light. stop by the tree house cafe or the raven bar. the owners of both places can put you in touch with drivers. as for driving your self, well it seems to have become more common, I don't know of any one who rents just a car. wtanaka should have more up to date info though.

What are the dates you're going to be here? How many people are in your party? Do you speak any Chinese?

I will be arriving on the afternoon of May 28th and leaving on the afternoon of June 7th. I am traveling by myself and really just want to go at my own pace and explore. While I do travel a lot and have spend 3 week or more in both Japan and Korea I only speak english. One thing that I want to go to is the Horse Festival but I think I can get a bus for that. The rest of things is to seek out landscapes and photogrpah them.
Kham Spokes suggested stopping by the Raven or Tree house which I plan on doing but I was hoping to have my transportation arranged before arriving.
