I am a foreign English Teacher. I would like to relocate in a small city in Yunnan with dry, cool summers and warm winters. I am planning to go there during the spring festival and would need a Chinese guide. I also would appreciate any suggestions and tips of your favorite place to visit.

I don't know if a place exists with that exact combination, but the Dali/Xiaguan area is probably pretty close.  Lijiang winters are a little bit chilly, and Kunming summers are a wee bit muggy.

There are many small cities nearby if Dali is too big and hectic for you, but it all depends on how small you're looking for.  Smile

Thanks for this information. I guess there isn't such a place here in China. Actually I grew up in one in cairo, Egypt, but that's a dessert dry mild weather.
I will check of smaller cities near Dali then. Thanks again.
