Don't get in the bus if it looks like it's about to burst into flames. Apparently the second time this happend this week. 
A PUBLIC bus burst into flames on Huaihai Road M. this afternoon.
No one was injured and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The blaze happened at 3:20pm when the No. 920 bus traveling from east to west passed the intersection of Huaihai Road M. and Sinan Road.
Flames leapt from the engine at the back of the vehicle, followed by heavy black smoke, a witness Liu Min told Shanghai Daily. All the passengers got off immediately.
Local Fire Control Brigade dispatched an engine. Firemen arrived at the spot about 7 minutes later, she said.
"The blaze was extinguished about one minute after their arrival," Liu said, adding that all smoke disappeared about 3:30pm.
The bus fire interrupted the traffic on Huaihai Road M., one of the city's most famous shopping streets, for at least half an hour.
"Hundreds of pedestrians were looking on the incident," Liu said.
The bus was totally burned down, and was pulled away by a tractor about 3:50pm.
The blaze happened just before the evening traffic rush hours, which are usually from 4pm to 7pm.
A No. 715 bus was also damaged by fire about Saturday noon at the intersection of Xizang Road S. and Fangxie Road in Huangpu District with no injuries.
