SIFA serves China’s diplomacy and Sichuan's economic development through its various international exchange programs & through its contacts with friendly foreign organizations and individuals, in accordance with SIFA's principles of :

Sichuan Provincial People's Association
SIFA's Major Tasks :
for Friendship with Foreign Countries
1. Receive foreign delegations or specialized groups visiting Sichuan Province
& organize Chinese delegations or specialized groups to visit foreign countries;
2. Promote economic, science and technology, trade, social, educational, &
personnel exchanges with foreign countries;
3. Undertake international cultural exchange programs; organize artistic
performances and exhibitions in Sichuan Province or abroad;
4. Conduct international seminars, symposiums, and trade exhibitions;
5. Assist in the establishment of friendly cooperative or sisterly relationships
between Sichuan Province (as well as its cities and prefectures) and their
foreign counterparts;
6. Organize activities in commemoration of the world's renowned figures and
maintaining world peace in joint effort with CPAFFC;
7. Establish & manage contacts with foreign organizations, institutions, and
individuals;

10. Handle assignments & programs entrusted by CPAFFC & other provincial
-level friendship associations.

SIFA Council Structure & Establishment:
SIFA Council is composed of organizations from all walks of trades, renowned figures, scholars, entrepreneurs, social activists, and SIFA's local sub-branches.
SIFA was established in June 1981 as Sichuan branch of CPAFFC and got its present name in 1987. SIFA is headquartered in Chengdu municipality and has local sub-branches in all cities, prefectures and in some of the counties and districts.
