The ride from Shudu Hu to Niru Village is one of the premier rides in Yunnan. From the lake you pass through old growth fir and pine stands, across a 4000m high grass land before descending 1400m into sub tropical oak pine and bamboo forest. Not for inexperienced mountain bikers. The ride it self is 5-10 hours long. Currently there is no guest house in Niru and no regular transport in or out of the village, but there should be by the late spring 2007.
