Anonymous ![]() | ![]() Hi, What is a good option for travelling from Hong Kong to Chengdu - is this one of those situations where a flight is the only realistic and practical option? I only have a month to travel in SW China, but the flight from HK (quoted by HK Dragon Air) is HKD2795 - which is about $280 USD ... Would I get it cheaper if I take a comfortable sleeper from HK or Shenzen to somewhere like Guilin or Gyuyang then fly from within China? thanks Philip |

There's a direct train from Guangzhou to Chengdu. It's also often cheaper to go to Shenzhen and fly from there than it is to fly from Hong Kong itself, so I hear.

I'm local people in Chengdu. The economical way from HK to Chengdu is take train or bus to Guangzhou or Shenzhen from HK, and then take flight to Chengdu. (Sometime you can get 70-80% discount for the air ticket (about 400-500RMB/one way).
By the way, if you need any help in Sichuan, just feel free to contact me.
