How you going to spend your Christmas this year?
Hi,
I will be travelling from Hong Kong to Beijing, but dont really want to simply jump on a train. I would love to take in some cool places on the way. Maybe travelling through Jiangxi Anhui, Shandong and Hebei (this just presents as a good path.
Is this a crazy way to go? Should I be looking at a different route? Am I missing some must see places?
I read on this site that I shouldnt miss these
1. The great wall.
2. Terracota soldiers at Xi'An.
3. The Forbiden city. Beijing.
4. Lijiang old town. Yunnan province.
5. The YangTze river.
Just thinking about my own personal transportation convenience, a railway from Kunming all the way to Singapore sure would be nice.
this CNN story and this Guardian story both report a Taiwanese scientist bringing up questions about whether the Taipei 101 building is causing more earthquakes due to its weight putting pressure on the soft rocks beneath it. It would be mighty ironic if the building one day caused the earthquake that caused it to collapse.
