Hi folks,

If I were out at Yunnan College Business Mgt., I've read it's ~ 12km to city center of Kunming, if that is accurate.  Is there a regular bus run between these two points?  If not, anything out in vicinity of the college (e.g., small shop, etc.)?  Thank you.

My trip to Shanghai was as an official of the sport of Softball. The following are my memories of the warm hospitality, the amazing facilities and the committment of the Chinese to our global volunteer work to bring athletic training and competitions to those with intellectual diabilities. Two weeks in Shanghai were not nearly enough to capture the districts that I spent time in. Our work at the softball/baseball facility in New Pudong included some long days and the time the softball officials spent together became more important than mere sightseeing or shopping.

The Speakeasy bar used to be great to hear live music in Kunming. Now it is just an underground dump, where fights constantly break out. The Chinese owner of the Speakeasy should stop fighting himself, and learn self control. The staff seem to hate foreigners, and are very rude to all patrons. I wouldn't go to this crappy bar again! I advise people to stay well away...

BEIJING (Reuters) - A city in China's central Hunan Province set off a 20 km (12.4 mile) string of firecrackers this week -- despite failing to persuade Guinness World Records to verify the event, the Xinhua news agency said on Saturday.

The string of firecrackers stretching from Dayao Town to Liuyang City, China's biggest firecracker producer, exploded for 68 minutes, littering the ground with debris and touching off an explosion of criticism from newspapers across the country.
