We are travelling overland from singapore to China and then onto India, via Lhasa-kathmandu. And are very keen for some local advice. We are seeking information on routes, transportation, costs, border crossings and visas...Of special interest is how do we get from Jinghong port to Lhasa? Is there a train? And when and where do we buy the Permit for Tibet? I hope you don't mind all our questions, we are just so excited to find a local site to chat on. We are leaving Australia on 23Dec and eventually fly out of Delhi on 11March. We hope to enter China from Thailand and come up the Mekong to Jinghong Port...Is this also a good idea? Hi, I need information of costs and timetables for trains going from Nanning to Hanoi, to travel on the 2nd of August (I am flexible with dates, but I am taking a train from Hong Kong to Guangzhou and then another from Guangzhou to Nanning, departing on the 1st of August from Hong Kong). I need this information urgently because I am travelling to China and I need a visa, for what I need to take information about how am I getting in and out of China to the embassy.
