Review of Ganges Indian Restaurant by Mathews John (5), 2006年10月16日

This is a new Indian Restaurant(GANGES) opened near Tsinghua University and Beijing/ Language University. ON Chengfu Road. The food is really good , the curries- Vegetable Curries start from rmb 30 and nan for rmb 10 , 1 non veg curry-chicken butter masala (may be 44 rmb) -and 1 nan and 1 plain rice -totally cost about 50 rmb-but is MUCH BETTER THAN EATING THOSE PIZZAS everyday..

Thos guys who do not like chinese food eating everyday-this is an excellent choice.

They also have rmb 28 (set menu)( 1 nan and lamb or chicken curry ) for lunch , Believe me it is real value for money. I happened to read about this in Thats beijing and the editor says- GANGES IS REAL DEAL for indian food in Beijing (he was so right ).(thanks so much Thats Beijing for your review)

I happened to go to India kitchen in chaoyang -the food is very poor (the taste is just not indian and few spices-they say -indian kitchen-want to save monies-so they cook in this way-I have gone to india few times and i wonder if the food is really indian .other good food is Taj -paviliion but is too expensive for students, so this is a great deal.-Ganges Indian Restaurant . If you ask the manager-he gives you a 10 % discount and sometimes beer is free!(if you are a regular ), sometimes they have some festival -of india-is real great buffet and so on .The manager is a professional indian manager and friendly and tries his best to give the customers-what they want.Go there -International students . It will be a real good change. My Korean and japanese friends too hang out at this place as is REAL VALUE FOR MONEY. I have seen india people crowds now at this restaurant as the food is cheaper than Taj Pavilion but quality is YUM .

We are regulars these days at Ganges and now have started liking china -because there are options of eating ! not only the pathetic chinese food -which they put so much oil and meat around the restaurant , and not so clean . And i was tired of eating pizzas every now and then, so this comes as a welcome change.
