join us in creating and establishing chengdu's premier english-language city magazine, chengdoo

we are seeking writers and photographers who can represent chengdu's daytime living and night scene in print. we welcome contributions from everybody, including activists, artists, non-native english speakers, critics, cynics, and creative, freaky, ironic or jaded people

for the first issue, we are looking for ...

STORIES

on recent, current, or upcoming art, food, music, or city events

creative writing, including short stories, poetry, and creative non-fiction

or PITCHES

in any of the following categories:

travel—do you have a spring festival travel story to tell? a recommended route or destination?
interviews—know somebody here you think everyone should know about? here's your chance
food—hua jiao-spiced lemonade for the summer? give us the dish on your local eating habits
monthly columns—want to be a regular contributor? tell us what you're thinking about

VISUAL ARTS

images that can be reproduced in print format including photos, paintings, sketches, graphic designs, comics, etc.

deadline for submissions is March 31, 2007

writers must be able to communicate their ideas reasonably well in english. here, enthusiasm counts more than experience. contributors need not be chengdu residents, but should have some knowledge of the city.

while publication in print is not guaranteed, all submissions will be published to our online counterpart, http://wwwchengdoo.com
