I heard not too long ago about some climbers that were in town and going to try to be the first ever to climb Kawa Karpo and survive.  Today I read about a pair of climbers gone missing.  Wonder if it's the same people.

no thats not the same people. the couple who want to climb Kawa Karpo are New Zealanders and they are not due till march. though slightly related, the guided hired by the NZ couple is now out looking for these two. lost in a big part of the world with not much to go on. doesn't look good.

Search crews in remote southwestern China confirmed that they found climber Charlie Fowler's body on the slope of Genyan Peak, but as of late Thursday had not yet located his climbing partner, Seattle guide service owner Christine Boskoff.

The body, encased in compressed snow and ice at 17,390 feet, was not in a climbing harness -- leading authorities to believe that the pair likely died in an avalanche on approach to the remote mountain in Sichuan Province near Tibet.
