Review of Mandarin Bookstore by Alexander Kuhn (0), 6. November 2009
I just want to write this comment because I'm very very much
disappointed about the service and the staff members of their shop in
Dali and their Manager. A few days ago I bought the newest Lonely Planet Travelguide for Vietnam and a few more books.
After
maybe one hour I regret it because I found out that there's already a
Lonely Planet for Vietnam, Laos, Kambodia and Yunnan Province, all in
all in one book. So I decided to go back to the store to change the
book or to ask if I can get the money back. The book was still in the plastic and not open or used at all.
I wanna go to all those countries and it makes much
more sense for me to have one travelguide for all the countries.
When
I arrived the staff didn't try to help me at all. When I've been to the
shop the first time they were helpful and they tried to speak English
as well. The second time they didn't speak English at all, in my
opinion they just didn't want to. They were unfriendly and absolutely
not helpful.
I asked some of my Chinese friends to help me and I
also called the manager several times. I got the information that I
can't get the money back.
Ok, I didn't understand but I accepted. But I still wanted to
change the book. So they said they can order the book for me from
Kunming and it will arrive in two days. Kunming is 4,5 hours away from Dali.
Now I'm waiting for already
more than three days. I called the bookstore several times but I'm sure
they never ordered the book.
All the time they tell us they're calling the driver and he's still on the way. For three days, from Kunming to Dali?
Now they became more and more unfriendly and pissed off. I'm sorry to say that but this is definitely one of my worst experiences here in China.
I'm
not in a good mood and I don't feel well anymore because of their
business ideology and I'm justing wasting time here.
In
my opinion when they just care about their business without treating
people, their customers well their business will go down one day.
Thank you for your attention.
