just came back from walking the dog. i managed to find one of those barbacue places still open.while placing my order i happened to gesture and try and convey in my broken chinese that they shouldnt place too much chilly on my food as i was gonna be sharing with my doggie. and after it was ready not only did they give me a separate bag for the one that they had placed the food for the dog, but they also put more stuff in there that was appropriate for doggie consumption.
love this place!
this afternoon i watched a father teach his 5 or 6 year old daughter tai chi. it was the way that he was doing it that made me notice it. this is was on a busy street and the dad is smoking a cigarrete and they had stopped off at some store, the girl starts practicing her tai chi on the sidewalk and the dad was absent mindedtly correcting her posture. my writing doesnt do that moment justice. it was a beautiful moment for me to watch. made me think that the beauty of china and the chinese people is that their culture is a way of life. its present in their daily activities.
i recently bought a puppy. never thought it'd survive this long (1 1/2 months)! very sickly. its amazing how many people feel more comfortable to approach a person they dont know and start a conversation when that person has a pet. so big thanks to doggie. i feed , love and medicate him: he gets me more people to chat with! its been a very fruitful relationship so far!
most days over here are strange, but most are stranger than always! gotta love it though. never a dull moment. all one has to do is walk outside with no set plan and an open mind and almost always events happen to you. it becomes a reactory kinda existence!
